Community Centre to celebrate International Lace Day.
On the day, we will be exhibiting some of our old lace treasure and some of our more recent creations. We also plan to have a talk on the history of lacemaking in South Armagh and how the women of this area played a key role in the international success story of Carrickmacross Lace. We will also screen our very own short film ‘The Threads That Bind Us’ which we have made as part of a recent collaborative project with the Public Records Office Northern Ireland, The Nerve Centre in Derry and Museums NI.
